What makes the GH-100 hard
GH-100 was rebuilt in July 2026 and even the name changed, to GitHub Enterprise Administrator. Microsoft’s change log says objectives were added, removed, moved and reworded across the board, so material written for the old GitHub Administration blueprint is testing a different exam.
The biggest domain is secure software development and compliance at 25 to 30%: organisation and enterprise policies, audit logging, secret scanning, CodeQL, Dependabot and security advisories, a security response plan, personal access tokens, rate limits, and approving or denying GitHub Apps and OAuth Apps.
Actions is next at 20 to 25% with reusable workflows at the enterprise level, runner groups and secrets scoped across organisation and repository. Identity covers managed users, SAML SSO, 2FA and SCIM. The deployment section expects a candidate to tell GHEC with EMU, GHEC with Data Residency plus EMU, GHEC with personal accounts and GHES apart, and the newer usage domain adds metered product reports and licence optimisation.
