Three of the 134 questions in this pack
Question 1
The synthesis agent receives summarized findings from the web search and document analysis agents, then passes a consolidated summary to the report generator. During testing, you discover the generated reports make factual claims without proper citations: the report generator cannot attribute statements to their original sources because that metadata was lost during the summarization steps. What’s the most effective approach to ensure proper source attribution in the final reports?
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: B. Have each agent output structured data separating content summaries from source metadata (URLs, document names, page numbers).
Attribution disappears here because each summarization step compresses findings into prose and drops the record of which source each statement came from. When every agent outputs structured data that keeps content summaries in one field and source metadata (URLs, document names, page numbers) in separate fields, the metadata survives each compression step instead of depending on a summarizer to restate it. The report generator then receives citations as data it can render directly, which fixes the root cause rather than trying to recover attribution after it has been lost.
Why the other options are wrong
- A. Re-locating sources after the report is written is a guess at which source supported each claim, adds extra search calls, and leaves the summarization steps still discarding metadata.
- C. Passing full raw outputs floods the report generator's context with far more text than it needs and abandons the summarization that keeps later stages focused.
- D. Inline references added at the synthesis stage cannot restore metadata that earlier summarization steps already dropped, and free-text citations can still be lost in later rewriting.
Question 2
After the web search agent finds 25 sources (120K tokens of raw content), the document analysis agent extracts key insights (15K tokens), and the synthesis agent produces a coherent narrative draft (3K tokens), the coordinator must pass context to the report generation agent for the final output with proper source citations. What context-passing strategy provides the best balance of completeness and efficiency?
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: B. Pass the synthesis draft along with a structured source index that maps key claims to their source URLs and relevant excerpts.
The report generator needs two things: the narrative to turn into a report and enough provenance to cite it accurately. The 3K-token synthesis draft supplies the narrative, and a structured source index mapping key claims to their source URLs and relevant excerpts supplies citation-ready provenance, without forcing the generator to wade through the 135K tokens of raw content and extracted insights. Carrying claim-to-source links forward as structured data is what keeps citations accurate after summarization, so this strategy keeps completeness where it matters while keeping the context lean.
Why the other options are wrong
- A. Passing the full accumulated context buries the claims that need citing among more than 135K tokens of raw material, raising cost and making it harder for the generator to focus.
- C. Matching claims to sources after generation means reconstructing links that were never carried forward, so citations can attach to the wrong source or be missed entirely.
- D. Attributing findings by source name only gives the report no URLs or excerpts, so citations cannot be specific or checked.
Question 3
Your multi-agent research pipeline crashed after processing 12 of 28 documents. The web search agent had identified relevant sources, the document analyzer had partially completed extraction, and the synthesizer had begun pattern identification. You need to resume processing without repeating work or losing fidelity of prior findings. What state management approach best balances information fidelity with context efficiency when restoring agent state?
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. Have each agent persist a structured export to a known location. On resume, the coordinator loads the manifest and injects relevant state into agent prompts.
Combining structured state exports with a coordinator-loaded manifest is the standard recovery pattern for a multi-agent pipeline. Each agent writes its progress (sources found, documents already extracted, partial synthesis patterns) to a known location in a structured format, so nothing depends on memory that was lost in the crash. On resume the coordinator reads the manifest, sees which of the 28 documents are done, and injects only the relevant state into each agent's prompt before dispatching the remaining work. Fidelity is preserved because state is stored explicitly, and context stays efficient because each agent receives only what it needs.
Why the other options are wrong
- B. Semantic search returns whatever looks similar to a query, so agents can miss prior findings or pull in unrelated ones, which undermines exact resumption.
- C. Agents reloading their own files independently leaves the coordinator unaware of what each agent completed, so it cannot sequence the remaining work or prevent duplication.
- D. Replaying the coordinator's full log floods agents with every delegation and response instead of the specific state they need, and it holds no clean record of partially completed extraction.

What makes the CCAR-F hard
The CCAR-F exam is open only to Claude Partner Network members. You register through the Anthropic Partner Academy with a partner email address on a recognized company domain, and personal email addresses will not work. If you are not covered by a partner organisation, confirm your eligibility with Anthropic before buying this or any other CCAR-F preparation.
This is an architect exam, so the questions are rarely about what a parameter does. They are closer to: here is a system that keeps failing, what is the right fix, and every wrong option is something that would technically work. A long-running agent runs out of context and you choose between summarising the history, spawning a subagent or writing state out to a file. A tool call returns a stop reason you did not expect. An MCP server exposes forty tools and the model keeps reaching for the wrong one. Every option is defensible; one is the answer.
That is the part you cannot revise from documentation, because the docs describe each feature on its own and the exam only asks about the trade-offs between them. Seeing the practice questions first is what makes the difference.
About the exam
Claude Certified Architect, Foundations is Anthropic's foundations-level certification for solution architects who design and build agent systems with Claude. It validates the ability to make sound trade-off decisions when implementing real-world solutions. Anthropic launched it as the first Claude technical certification for partners, and has since added Claude Certified Associate, Claude Certified Developer (Foundations) and Claude Certified Architect (Professional).
