Question 1
You are a procurement associate decomposing a vendor-evaluation task. Which dependency ordering reflects sound sequencing?
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. Define evaluation criteria first, gather vendor data against those criteria, then score and rank.
A sound vendor evaluation follows the dependencies between steps. The criteria must come first because they define what to measure. Data is then gathered on each vendor against those criteria, so that nothing relevant is missed and the comparison stays consistent. Only after that can vendors be scored and ranked fairly. Each step depends on the output of the one before it, which is exactly the kind of ordering that decomposing a task with Claude is meant to capture.
Why the other options are wrong
- B. Ranking before any data is collected leaves nothing to base the ranking on, so the order would be arbitrary.
- C. Scoring before criteria are decided means the scores have no agreed standard and may be tuned to reach a preferred result.
- D. Asking for a recommendation with no inputs gives Claude nothing to evaluate and invites an unsupported answer.
Question 2
You are configuring a new Claude Project for a specific recurring workload. Which Project configuration step should be performed first?
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. Define the purpose of the Project and the recurring tasks it must support.
The first step in configuring a Project is defining its purpose and the recurring tasks it must support. That definition determines which reference materials and instructions belong in it, who needs access, and what a representative test request looks like. Without a clear purpose, the later steps would be guesses, so every other configuration decision depends on getting this one right first.
Why the other options are wrong
- B. Inviting collaborators before the Project's purpose is defined means access is granted without knowing who needs it or what they will do.
- C. Adding materials and instructions requires knowing what the Project is for, so this follows the purpose definition.
- D. Testing a representative request only makes sense after the Project has been configured, so it comes near the end.
Question 3
You are a product designer using Claude in a solution design exercise. Which solution-design step should be performed first when using Claude?
Show answer and explanation
Correct answer: A. Articulate the problem the solution must address and the constraints in play.
Solution design begins with a clear statement of the problem and the constraints in play. That framing gives Claude and the designer a shared target, so the candidate concepts that follow address the real need and respect real limits such as budget, time, and technology. Generating concepts, comparing them, and producing mock-ups all depend on this foundation and would be unfocused or wasted if the problem were not defined first.
Why the other options are wrong
- B. Comparing candidates against constraints requires that candidates and constraints already exist, so it comes after framing and generation.
- C. Detailed mock-ups of a chosen solution come near the end, after a concept has been selected.
- D. Generating concepts before the problem and constraints are articulated produces ideas that may not fit the actual need.

What makes the CCAO-F hard
The CCAO-F exam is open only to people who work for an organization in the Claude Partner Network. You need a work email on a domain listed in your organization's partner record, and personal email addresses will not work. If you are not covered by a partner organization, confirm your eligibility with Anthropic before buying this or any other CCAO-F preparation.
This is an exam about using Claude well at work, not about building with the API. The questions are scenarios: a confident summary cites a regulation, so what do you do before sending it on; a Project needs instructions for a team, so which set of custom instructions fits; a task needs speed and low cost, so which model do you pick. Several options sound reasonable and only one is the best judgement call. Some questions ask you to put steps in the right order, and many ask you to select two answers.
This pack has 119 practice questions for the CCAO-F, including the ordering and select-two formats, so the question style is familiar before exam day.
The largest domain, Output Evaluation and Validation, is about spotting hallucinations, bias and gaps and knowing when a human has to check the result. That judgement is hard to revise from documentation alone, which is why seeing the practice questions first makes the difference.
About the exam
Claude Certified Associate, Foundations is Anthropic's certification for professionals who use Claude as a day-to-day productivity tool in roles such as operations, marketing, project management, education and communications. It validates the ability to apply Claude to business tasks with minimal guidance, use built-in features such as Projects and Artifacts, choose approaches that balance quality, speed and cost, and recognise when to escalate technical work. There are no mandatory prerequisites, and no software development or API experience is needed. For the architect track, see our Anthropic CCAR-F pack. Also see the Anthropic CCAR-P and Anthropic CCDV-F packs.
