What makes the COF-C03 hard
COF-C03 is the current SnowPro Core. Snowflake released it on 16 February 2026 and retired the English COF-C02 on 14 May 2026, so any bank still labelled C02 is for a different blueprint: the new version folded the old six domains into five, renamed the platform “AI Data Cloud” throughout, and pulled in Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, Iceberg tables and cost governance. The format is 100 questions in 115 minutes with a scaled pass mark of 750 out of 1000, which is brisker than most certification exams and punishes people who linger on the multi select items.
Snowflake AI Data Cloud Features and Architecture is 31%, nearly a third of the exam: the three layer separation of storage, compute and cloud services, virtual warehouse sizing, multi-cluster warehouses, auto suspend and resume, editions, the result and warehouse caches, micro-partitions, and the newer platform features from Cortex AI functions to Iceberg. Performance Optimization, Querying and Transformation at 21% covers pruning, clustering keys, the Query Profile, spilling, search optimisation, materialised and dynamic tables, semi-structured querying and Snowpark.
Account Management and Data Governance at 20% covers role based access control and the system roles, Time Travel and Fail-safe, zero copy cloning, dynamic data masking, row access policies, tags, resource monitors and cost management views. Data Loading, Unloading and Connectivity at 18% covers internal and external stages, COPY INTO, file formats, Snowpipe and Snowpipe Streaming, streams and tasks, and the connectors and drivers. Data Collaboration at 10% covers Secure Data Sharing, reader accounts, listings and the Snowflake Marketplace. About the exam
COF-C03 (SnowPro Core Certification) is Snowflake’s foundation level certification and the prerequisite for the SnowPro Advanced role based exams. It covers the AI Data Cloud architecture, account management and data governance, data loading, unloading and connectivity, performance optimisation, querying and transformation, and data collaboration. There are no prerequisites; Snowflake recommends six months of hands-on experience.
