What makes the AZ-305 hard
AZ-305 is Microsoft’s architect-level Azure exam, and it behaves like one. It does not test whether a VNet or a storage account can be defined; it hands candidates business requirements and asks what they would actually design.
Identity and governance architecture, storage tier selection, high availability and disaster recovery targets, and compute and network design under cost constraints are the trade-offs a real solutions architect weighs every day. Candidates who know the Azure services but have not studied the exam’s question style consistently underperform, because Microsoft does not test definitions, it tests design decisions, and there is almost always more than one option that works, just one that works best.
