What makes the Associate Google Workspace Administrator exam hard
The Associate Google Workspace Administrator replaced the retired Professional Google Workspace Administrator with a broader, more practical exam aimed at the people who actually run the Admin console every day: help desk, IT support and Workspace admins. The questions read like tickets: a user cannot receive mail, a calendar will not sync with Outlook, a file was shared externally when policy says it cannot be, and the task is to pick the console setting or tool that fixes it.
Managing core Workspace services is the biggest section at about 23%: mail routing and DMARC, Drive sharing and trust rules, Calendar and Meet settings, Chat spaces, and Gemini for Workspace controls. User accounts, domains and Directory at about 20% covers provisioning, SAML SSO, OU design and groups. Security at about 20% covers password and 2SV policies, context-aware access and admin roles.
Data governance at about 15% is Vault retention, DLP rules and Takeout. Troubleshooting at about 13% covers Email Log Search and the Admin Toolbox. Browsers and endpoints at about 10% covers mobile management and Chrome browser enrolment.
