What makes the SISE hard

The 300-715 is a single-product exam, and that is exactly what makes it dangerous. There is nowhere to hide behind general networking knowledge: every question is ISE, and it goes deep, which policy set matches first, what the authorization result actually pushes, why the endpoint landed in the wrong profile.

802.1X and MAB flows, policy sets and authorization profiles, profiling probes and certainty values, guest portals and web auth, BYOD onboarding and certificate provisioning, posture assessment, TACACS+ device administration, and TrustSec and SGTs are the configuration a real ISE engineer lives in every day. Candidates who run ISE in production but only touch part of it consistently underperform, because the exam covers the whole product, including the corners a given deployment never used. Roughly 55 to 65 questions in 90 minutes.

About the exam

The 300-715 SISE certifies engineers who deploy and configure Cisco Identity Services Engine: 802.1X, policy enforcement, profiling, guest services, BYOD, posture, and TACACS+ device administration. It counts as a concentration exam toward the CCNP Security certification, paired with the 350-701 SCOR core, and earns a Specialist certification on its own. Valid for three years.
