What makes the ENSDWI hard
The 300-415 tests a control plane most engineers have never run in production. Plenty of candidates manage traditional WANs; far fewer have stood up controllers, built OMP policies or debugged a TLOC that will not come up, and the exam assumes you have.
Controller deployment and certificates, OMP routes and TLOC attributes, device and feature templates, centralised versus localised policy, application-aware routing and SLA classes, Direct Internet Access, security policy and QoS are the configuration a real SD-WAN engineer lives in every day. Candidates who know routing but have not internalised the SD-WAN policy model consistently underperform, since centralised policy logic behaves like nothing in traditional IOS. Roughly 55 to 65 questions in 90 minutes.
About the exam
The 300-415 ENSDWI certifies engineers who design, deploy and operate Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN: controller architecture, OMP, device templates, centralised and localised policies, application-aware routing, security and QoS. It counts as a concentration exam toward the CCNP Enterprise certification, paired with the 350-401 ENCOR core, and earns a Specialist certification on its own. Valid for three years.
