What makes the 2V0-17.25 hard
Anyone who has been studying 2V0-11.25 should know this is the exam that replaced it. 2V0-11.25 is built on VCF 5.2 and the Aria Suite. 2V0-17.25 is built on VCF 9.0, and the product names on the blueprint changed with it: VCF Automation, VCF Operations, VCF Operations for Logs, VCF Operations for Networks, VCF Fleet Management, VCF Identity Broker, VCF Operations HCX. It is the same job on a renamed and rearchitected estate, and studying the old names is the most common way to lose marks on this one.
The blueprint is unusually lopsided, and it is worth planning around. Sections 1 and 3 carry no testable objectives at all. Everything sits in Section 2, VMware Cloud Foundation Fundamentals, and Section 4, Deploy, Configure, and Operate VCF, and Section 4 is by far the larger of the two. Objective 4.3 alone runs to fourteen operations tasks, from custom views and reports through alerting, policies, configuration drift and compliance monitoring in VCF Operations.
The other shift is automation. Objective 4.4, Consume and Automate, expects candidates to configure a Region, multi-organizational tenancy, provider networking, a provider content library and organizational governance policies in VCF Automation. That surface barely existed on the 5.2 exam. Nearly every objective is phrased “Given a scenario”, so the questions are situational rather than definitional.
