Three of the 111 questions in this pack

Question 1

A business process needs to perform a multi-step calculation on each contact record in a list.

Using an Integration Procedure to process the list, what feature can be used to meet this requirement?

  1. Conditional Block
  2. Loop Block
  3. DataRaptor Transform Action
  4. Batch Action
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: B. Loop Block

A Loop Block is the appropriate feature for processing multiple records in a list sequentially. It allows an Integration Procedure to iterate through each contact record and perform multi-step calculations on each one. Conditional Blocks handle branching logic, DataRaptor Transform Actions transform data structure, and Batch Actions handle asynchronous bulk processing, none of which are designed for iterating through a list of records.

Why the other options are wrong

  • A. Conditional Blocks evaluate logical conditions but don't iterate through lists of records.
  • C. DataRaptor Transform Actions restructure data but are not designed for processing multiple records sequentially.
  • D. Batch Actions process records asynchronously in the background, not in a procedural step-by-step manner.

Question 2

A company wants to create a guided process for their customers. The process needs to retrieve data from Salesforce as well as external systems, and the steps of the process will branch depending on input from the user. Users will complete the process in a single session.

How should the consultant design the solution to meet these requirements?

  1. OmniScripts and Integration Procedures
  2. FlexCards and DataRaptors
  3. OmniScripts and DataRaptors
  4. FlexCards and Integration Procedure
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: A. OmniScripts and Integration Procedures

OmniScripts provide the guided process interface that supports branching logic based on user input and maintain state throughout a single session. Integration Procedures handle data retrieval from Salesforce and external systems, as well as complex multi-step logic. Together, they meet all requirements: OmniScript delivers the user-facing guided experience with branching, while Integration Procedures manage data retrieval from multiple sources. DataRaptors are data transformation tools and FlexCards are display- only components, neither provides the guided process workflow or branching capability needed.

Why the other options are wrong

  • B. FlexCards are display components without guided process or branching capabilities, and DataRaptors only transform data without orchestrating processes.
  • C. While OmniScripts and DataRaptors can work together, DataRaptors alone cannot retrieve from external systems, Integration Procedures are needed for that.
  • D. FlexCards are read-only display components and do not support guided user processes with branching logic.

Question 3

A business has the following requirements:

To display cases for an account -The user should see all of the cases on the canvas The user should be able to create a new case from the canvas The consultant decides to use states to enable this functionality.

Which type of state should the consultant recommend to allow users to create a new case from the canvas?

  1. Edit Mode State
  2. New Card State
  3. Blank Card State
  4. Active Card State
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: C. Blank Card State

A Blank Card State is designed to display a blank template that users can interact with to create new records. This state provides the interface for users to enter information for a new case without pre-populated data. Edit Mode State modifies existing cards, New Card State creates structured card instances, and Active Card State displays existing data, only Blank Card State provides the empty form experience needed for case creation.

Why the other options are wrong

  • A. Edit Mode State is for modifying existing records, not for creating new ones from a blank state.
  • B. New Card State creates new card instances but is not the specific state type designed for user-initiated record creation.
  • D. Active Card State displays existing card data and is not designed for creating new records.

What makes the OmniStudio Consultant hard

OmniStudio Consultant is the design-side companion to the Developer exam, and Salesforce says explicitly that no JavaScript, Apex or security configuration knowledge is needed. What it wants instead is judgement: given a business process, which OmniStudio tools solve it, in what combination, and what to change about the UI. It is 60 questions in 105 minutes and is widely regarded as one of the more approachable Salesforce exams, but only for candidates who know the toolset well enough to explain the limits of each component.

The exam guide covers the tools and then the consulting. FlexCards covers capabilities and use cases, designing cards to meet requirements and grouping Customer 360 information for the Interaction Console. OmniScripts covers the basic structure, validating a developed OmniScript against client expectations and mapping process steps to OmniScript components. Data tools covers the purpose and benefits of Integration Procedures and DataRaptors (now also called OmniStudio Data Mappers) and designing them together. Decision Matrices and Expression Sets, the successors to Calculation Matrices and Procedures, cover when a lookup table or an expression beats hard-coded logic. The consulting section covers gathering, analysing and simplifying requirements, mapping them to OmniStudio capabilities, fit-gap analysis, developing the implementation plan, adapting an Industry Process to an org, and customising the UX and UI to the customer’s needs.

Familiarity with Sales, Service and Experience Cloud and their sales and service lifecycles is assumed throughout.

About the exam

The Salesforce Certified OmniStudio Consultant credential validates the ability to analyse business needs and design OmniStudio solutions: FlexCards, OmniScripts, Integration Procedures and Data Mappers, Decision Matrices and Expression Sets, requirements gathering, solution mapping and implementation planning. There are no prerequisites; Salesforce recommends experience with Sales, Service and Experience Cloud and hands-on OmniStudio exposure.
