What makes the SC-300 hard
Fail the SC-300 and Microsoft charges the full US$165 again, with no free retake or discount. The exam is heavily scenario-based and consistently tests whether you know Microsoft’s recommended approach, not just whether you know the technology. Knowing Entra ID but not how Microsoft wants you to use it is an expensive way to learn that lesson.
One change worth flagging on the current blueprint: workload identities are now a domain in their own right, at 20 to 25%. Service principals, managed identities and workload identity federation carry as much weight as user identity management, not a footnote inside application access.
Most SC-300 preparation comes from Microsoft Learn and generic practice tests that do not reflect how the exam itself is worded. This pack does: 463 questions written to match the scenario framing, the Entra ID edge cases, and the PIM and identity governance questions that show up on the day.
About the exam
The SC-300 validates the ability to implement and manage identity and access solutions using Microsoft Entra ID, including conditional access, Privileged Identity Management, workload identities, identity governance and hybrid identity. It is a core certification for Microsoft cloud security roles and a natural step toward SC-200 and SC-100. Skills measured as of 27 April 2026.
