Three of the 474 questions in this pack

Question 1

Your company has datacenters in Los Angeles and New York. The company has a Microsoft Azure subscription. You are configuring the two datacenters as geo-clustered sites for site resiliency. You need to recommend an Azure storage redundancy option. You have the following data storage requirements: • Data must be stored on multiple nodes. • Data must be stored on nodes in separate geographic locations. • Data can be read from the secondary location as well as from the primary location Which of the following Azure stored redundancy options should you recommend?

  1. Geo-redundant storage
  2. Read-only geo-redundant storage
  3. Zone-redundant storage
  4. Locally redundant storage
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: B. Read-only geo-redundant storage

Read-access geo-redundant storage (RA-GRS) writes multiple copies across nodes in the primary region, replicates the data to a secondary region hundreds of miles away, and keeps the secondary endpoint available for read access at any time. That covers all three requirements: multiple nodes, separate geographic locations, and the ability to read from the secondary as well as the primary. It is the only listed option that exposes a readable secondary without waiting for a failover.

Why the other options are wrong

  • A. Geo-redundant storage copies data to a secondary region, but that copy cannot be read until a failover is initiated.
  • C. Zone-redundant storage only replicates data across availability zones within a single region, not across separate geographic locations.
  • D. Locally redundant storage only replicates within a single datacenter and provides no geographic separation at all.

Question 2

Note: The question is included in a number of questions that depicts the identical set-up. However, every question has a distinctive result. Establish if the solution satisfies the requirements. Your company's Azure subscription includes a Basic support plan. They would like to request an assessment of an Azure environment's design from Microsoft. This is, however, not supported by the existing plan. You want to make sure that the company subscribes to a support plan that allows this functionality, while keeping expenses to a minimum. Solution: You recommend that the company subscribes to the Professional Direct support plan. Does the solution meet the goal?

  1. Yes
  2. No
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: A. Yes

Professional Direct is the lowest-cost Azure support plan that includes architecture support with guidance and review, which is what an assessment of an environment's design requires. The Basic plan includes no technical support, and the Developer and Standard plans include only general architecture guidance rather than a design review. Subscribing to Professional Direct therefore meets the goal while keeping expenses to the minimum among plans that offer the feature.

Why the other options are wrong

  • B. The current plan cannot deliver a design assessment, and the recommended plan is the least expensive one that includes architecture review.

Question 3

Note: The question is included in a number of questions that depicts the identical set-up. However, every question has a distinctive result. Establish if the solution satisfies the requirements. You are tasked with deploying Azure virtual machines for your company. You need to make use of the appropriate cloud deployment solution. Solution: You should make use of Software as a Service (SaaS). Does the solution meet the goal?

  1. Yes
  2. No
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: B. No

SaaS (Software as a Service) is not appropriate for deploying Azure virtual machines. SaaS provides fully managed applications accessed through a web browser, such as Microsoft 365 or Salesforce. Deploying virtual machines requires infrastructure-level control, which SaaS does not provide. Virtual machines are part of the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) cloud model, where you manage the VMs, operating systems, and applications while Azure manages the underlying infrastructure.

Why the other options are wrong

  • A. Yes is incorrect; SaaS is not used for deploying virtual machines.

What makes the AZ-900 hard

AZ-900 is Microsoft’s entry point into the Azure certification path: no prerequisites, no expiry date, and a foundation every Azure certification above it builds on. Most candidates find it manageable, but Microsoft last revised the skills measured on 20 July 2026, tightening the compute and networking, deployment tooling and monitoring objectives. Study material written before mid-2026 may not reflect what is actually on the test now.

This pack is fully current: 474 practice questions from the live AZ-900 exam as it stands today, so there is no risk of preparing for a version of the exam that no longer exists.

About the exam

AZ-900 is Microsoft’s entry-level cloud certification. It validates foundational knowledge of cloud concepts and Azure services, covering cloud models, core Azure compute, networking, storage, security, governance and pricing, and suits both technical and non-technical candidates. The certification never expires and carries no renewal requirement. Skills measured as of 20 July 2026.
