Three of the 625 questions in this pack

Question 1

A PM is responsible for implementing a new customer relationship management system and has learned that the sales organization is reluctant to utilize the new system. The organization’s reluctance could jeopardize the success of the project. Which of the following steps should be taken to understand the adoption issues and gain organizational acceptance of the initiative? (Choose two.)

  1. Train users on the proper use of the system.
  2. Escalate the issue to the CCB.
  3. Hold sessions to understand user challenges.
  4. Track system usage and report user activity.
  5. Log the issue in the project risk register.
  6. Create a memorandum of acceptable use.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: A, C

A. Train users on the proper use of the system. C. Hold sessions to understand user challenges. The question asks for two things: understand the adoption issues and gain acceptance. Holding sessions with the sales organization surfaces the specific challenges driving the reluctance, and training users on proper use builds the confidence and competence needed for them to accept and adopt the new system. Listening first and then equipping users directly targets the resistance that threatens project success.

Why the other options are wrong

  • B. The change control board evaluates baseline changes, not user adoption resistance.
  • D. Tracking usage measures the symptom; it does not uncover or resolve the resistance.
  • E. Logging the concern as a risk records it but does nothing to gain user acceptance.
  • F. A memorandum of acceptable use mandates behavior instead of building acceptance.

Question 2

Following a successful release, a project manager sent a survey to all stakeholders to gain an understanding of opportunity areas for the team. Which of the following can use the survey results as an input?

  1. Daily stand-up
  2. Project momentum
  3. Performance feedback
  4. Meeting minutes
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: C. Performance feedback

Post-release survey results provide valuable feedback on team and project performance, making them ideal input for performance feedback discussions and evaluations. Performance feedback (C) is the process of reviewing how well the team and project performed, which is exactly what stakeholder survey results inform. Daily stand-ups (A) focus on current sprint work, not retrospective feedback. Project momentum (B) relates to current project velocity. Meeting minutes (D) are documentation of discussions, not a process that uses survey results as input.

Why the other options are wrong

  • A. Daily stand-ups address current work progress, not retrospective survey feedback.
  • B. Project momentum concerns current velocity, not lessons learned from completed projects.
  • D. Meeting minutes document what was discussed, rather than being a process that uses survey results.

Question 3

Which of the following is an activity that should be used in the closing phase of a project to support the project triple constraint?

  1. Evaluating the project
  2. Releasing the resources
  3. Closing the contracts
  4. Reconciling the budget ✅Correct Answer: D, Reconciling the budget Reconciling the budget closes out cost, one of the three legs of the triple constraint of scope, schedule, and cost. During closure the PM compares actual spend against the approved budget, settles open invoices and commitments, and confirms the project finished within its cost constraint. The other closing tasks are administrative or procurement steps that do not close out a constraint.

What makes the Project+ hard

The CompTIA Project+ is one of the few IT certifications with no expiry date. No renewal fees, no continuing education requirements, and no retaking the exam every three years: pass PK0-005 and you hold the credential permanently, so failing it and paying US$399 again is the one outcome worth avoiding.

Project+ covers both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, project life cycle phases, change management, risk management and IT-specific governance concepts, and the exam includes performance-based questions that test your ability to apply those concepts in scenarios, not just define them. Candidates with real project management experience but who have not studied how CompTIA frames these questions often walk out surprised. This pack has 625 practice questions for the PK0-005, every MCQ and PBQ.

About the exam

The CompTIA Project+ is the vendor-neutral entry-level project management certification for IT professionals. It validates the ability to manage small to medium-sized projects across their full life cycle, covering project management concepts, initiation and planning, execution and delivery, and project tools, documentation and IT governance. It is specifically designed for IT professionals who manage projects as part of a broader role rather than dedicated project managers, and covers both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Current version V5, series code PK0-005, launched 8 November 2022. No formal prerequisites are required, and the certification does not expire.
