Question 1

You work as a Systems Administrator for your company. The company has recently purchased a subscription to Microsoft 365. All users in your company have a Microsoft 365 E3 license. You are in the process of configuring Microsoft Teams. You need to configure Microsoft Teams to ensure that users within your company can collaborate with users in a partner company. You plan to create guest accounts for users in the partner company. Users with Guest accounts must not be able to invite other guests. Only users in the partner company must be able to collaborate with your users by using Microsoft Teams. Which of the following should you configure?

  1. The external sharing settings in the SharePoint Admin Center.
  2. The external collaboration settings in Azure Active Directory.
  3. The Anonymous users can join a meeting setting the in the Teams Meeting Settings.
  4. The Global Meeting Policy in the Teams Admin Center.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: B. The external collaboration settings in Azure Active Directory.

Directory. External collaboration settings in Azure Active Directory control guest access policies, including restrictions on guest invitations and collaboration scope. This is the appropriate place to configure which external organizations can collaborate with your company and to restrict guest capabilities like inviting other guests. The other options control different aspects: SharePoint sharing is separate from Teams collaboration, anonymous meeting joins are for public access, and meeting policies don't restrict guest invitation capabilities.

Why the other options are wrong

  • A. SharePoint Admin Center external sharing settings control document collaboration, not Teams guest account capabilities and invitation restrictions.
  • C. Anonymous meeting settings allow unauthenticated users to join, which is not appropriate for controlled partner collaboration.
  • D. Global Meeting Policy controls meeting behavior for authenticated users, not guest account creation or invitation restrictions.

Question 2

You work as a Systems Administrator for your company. The company has recently purchased a subscription to Microsoft 365. All users in your company have a Microsoft 365 E3 license. You are in the process of configuring Microsoft Teams. You enable Guest access in Microsoft Teams to allow users in your company to collaborate with external users. A company security policy states that guest users should not be able to use their cameras during Microsoft Teams meetings. Company users should be able to use their cameras during Microsoft Teams meetings. You need to configure Microsoft Teams to meet the security requirement. Which of the following actions should you perform in the Microsoft Teams Admin Center?

  1. Configure the External access settings in Org-wide settings.
  2. Configure the Teams settings in Org-wide settings.
  3. Configure the Guest access settings in Org-wide settings.
  4. Configure the Audio & Video settings in the default Meeting Policy
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: C. Configure the Guest access settings in Org-wide settings.

settings. Guest access settings in Org-wide settings allow you to configure specific capabilities for guest users, including restrictions on camera usage during meetings. This setting differentiates permissions between guest users and internal company users, allowing you to disable cameras for guests while keeping them enabled for employees.

Why the other options are wrong

  • A. External access settings control federation with other organizations, not guest- specific capabilities.
  • B. Teams settings in Org-wide settings control general Teams features but not guest- specific restrictions.
  • D. The default Meeting Policy applies to all meeting participants and cannot create different restrictions for guests versus internal users.

Question 3

You work as a Microsoft 365 Administrator for your company. All users have Microsoft 365 licenses. Users frequently collaborate by using private chats in Microsoft Teams. You need to ensure that a single user is unable to permanently delete private chats. Which of the following should you configure?

  1. The user's Microsoft 365 license options in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
  2. A meeting policy in Microsoft Teams.
  3. A litigation hold on the user's mailbox.
  4. A Sensitivity Label in the Security & Compliance Admin Center.
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: C. A litigation hold on the user's mailbox.

A litigation hold on a user's mailbox preserves all communications, including Teams private chat messages, and prevents permanent deletion. When a litigation hold is active, deleted items are retained in the Recoverable Items folder and cannot be permanently removed by the user, meeting the requirement that a single user cannot permanently delete private chats.

Why the other options are wrong

  • A. Microsoft 365 license options do not control chat deletion capabilities.
  • B. Meeting policies control meeting-specific settings, not private chat retention.
  • D. Sensitivity Labels classify content for protection but do not prevent deletion of chats.

What makes the MS-700 hard

Everyone uses Teams. The MS-700 tests the parts nobody sees: the policy engine underneath, and the telephony stack most admins have never had to configure.

Policy questions dominate: meeting policies versus meeting settings, app permission versus app setup policies, messaging policies, and which policy wins when a user has several assigned. Then the voice section catches the rest: Direct Routing versus Calling Plans versus Operator Connect, emergency calling, auto attendants and call queues. Add guest access versus external access, the distinction the exam never stops testing.

Configuring and managing the Teams environment is 40 to 45% of the exam on its own, so governance, security and tenant-level configuration carry more weight than the meetings and calling material most candidates spend their time on.

It is a natural next step after MS-102 and SC-300 for anyone running an M365 estate, with policy collisions and voice scenarios covered in depth.
